ANPR + scale + GPS integration for a logistics yard
Drivers and daemons pulling data from cameras, weighbridges and GPS units into a single dispatch view. Replaced three vendor portals.
The brief
A logistics operator was running three separate vendor portals to monitor yard movements: ANPR cameras, weighbridge scales and a GPS fleet system. Dispatchers were copy-pasting between them.
What I built
- Drivers/daemons for each device family talking native protocols.
- Single Postgres event store with a real-time dispatch UI.
- Alerting hooks for over-weight, plate-mismatch and geofence breach.
Outcome
Three portals retired. Average truck turnaround down. Dispatchers now manage exceptions instead of refreshing tabs.
